What’s Included in the Charizard ex Special Collection Box?

• 1 foil Charmander card
• 1 foil Charmeleon card

The official Pokémon product listing confirms these contents and the June 27, 2025 launch date.

Charizard ex Promo Card

The centerpiece of this Special Collection is the etched foil Charizard ex promo card. This Charizard ex features the Darkness-type Tera design associated with Charizard’s appearance in the Scarlet & Violet era.

The promo is especially appealing to collectors who enjoy Charizard cards, Tera Pokémon ex, and special promotional artwork. The Charizard ex included in this collection is SVP Promo 196.

Because the card is included directly in the sealed collection, collectors do not need to rely on booster-pack pulls to obtain this particular promo.

Charmander and Charmeleon Foil Cards

The Charizard ex Special Collection also includes foil versions of Charmander and Charmeleon, completing the featured evolution line alongside Charizard ex.

These cards help give the collection a cohesive presentation and make the box appealing to collectors who enjoy displaying complete Pokémon evolution families.

The Charmander and Charmeleon cards are associated with the Paldean Fates era and are presented as Cosmos Holofoil versions in this collection.

Five Pokémon TCG Booster Packs

Inside the Charizard ex Special Collection Box are 5 Pokémon TCG booster packs.

These sealed packs provide an additional opening experience alongside the guaranteed promotional cards. Pack contents are randomized, so specific Pokémon, rarities, or chase cards are not guaranteed.

For collectors, the combination of guaranteed Charizard-themed cards and sealed booster packs makes this Special Collection an attractive addition to a Pokémon TCG sealed collection.

Oversized Lenticular Charizard ex Card

One of the most distinctive features of this product is the oversized lenticular Charizard ex card.

Unlike a standard oversized Pokémon card, the lenticular design creates a changing visual effect when the card is viewed or moved from different angles. The effect is designed to show Charizard ex in an action-oriented transition, making the card particularly interesting as a display piece.

The lenticular card adds something different to a traditional Pokémon TCG collection and gives the Special Collection a memorable visual centerpiece.

Charizard ex and the Scarlet & Violet Era

Charizard ex became one of the defining Pokémon cards of the Scarlet & Violet era. The Darkness-type Tera Charizard ex was prominently featured in Scarlet & Violet—Obsidian Flames, an expansion built around Terastallization and powerful Pokémon ex.

The Obsidian Flames expansion introduced more than 190 cards and featured Darkness-type Charizard ex alongside other Tera Pokémon ex.

The Special Collection continues that Charizard-focused theme with an exclusive promo presentation and additional evolution-line cards.

Why Collectors Want the Charizard ex Special Collection

Iconic Charizard Theme

Charizard remains one of the most recognizable Pokémon in the franchise, making Charizard-focused TCG products especially popular with collectors.

Exclusive Promo Card

The etched foil Charizard ex promo gives collectors a specific card to add to their collection without relying on randomized booster pulls.

Complete Featured Evolution Line

Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard ex appear together, creating a natural evolution-line theme for collectors.

Unique Lenticular Display Card

The oversized lenticular card gives the collection a visual feature that is different from a conventional jumbo card.

Sealed Booster Packs

Five booster packs add an additional opening experience and expand the product beyond its guaranteed promotional cards.

Charizard ex Special Collection vs. Other Charizard Collections

The Scarlet & Violet era includes several different Charizard ex collections, so it is important to distinguish this Special Collection from similarly named products.

The Charizard ex Premium Collection released in October 2023 and included six booster packs, 65 Charizard sleeves, and a magnetic card protector.

The Charizard ex Super-Premium Collection released in October 2024 and included ten booster packs plus a Charizard card-display figure.

The Charizard ex Special Collection is a different product, featuring five booster packs and the distinctive oversized lenticular Charizard ex card.
